Worked on the Beekman Street project at schematic design level, laying out typical floor plates. Drawings were done in AutoCAD or Catia. I was the CAD manager for the project uploading to the FTP site each week. Project interesting mix of uses with hospital, student and rental uses. Worked on the subsequent complicated elevator design. Collaboration with the model making team.

Project architect on this Single Family residential remodel on Larkin Street with spectacular views of Golden Gate Bridge. Scope increased dramatically during construction from $1m to $5m due to client scope increase. Construction continued during Covid. Multiple permits and revisions including pre-apps and a variance. Many visits to SF Building Department.

Joined the super talented Multistudio Phoenix Team working on Central Station mixed use transport oriented design residential towers , from design development to construction admin.
Worked with the renowned and talented lighting designer Derek Porter to incorporate creative lighting design in to the project from concept to detail in lobbies, pet spa and roof decks. This building is wholistic in it's sustainable design from transport orientated design, thoughtful design of building orientation and facade design to maximise shading, and red-list free materials. LEED silver without support from client. A stunning modern white architecture that stands out in the beige of the Phoenix skyline. Most cool moment at the topping off ceremony signing the last beam to be installed on the elevator overrun on the roof.

Most ambitious project architect for Bolinas Mesa Park Masterplan project that I brought in to the office, currently in the funding stage. Design for a resilience hub with mass timber civic structures.

Adaptive reuse project conversion of gaudy hotel in to student housing and amenities for SJSU. Permitting in many increments to fast track project. Design & Build with Build Group as GC. AHJs included CSU, DSA and health department.

Conversion of the Hilton Signia Hotel in downtown San Jose, CA. South tower renovated to house almost 700 students in a living learning community environment. Social and academic spaces are concentrated on levels one and two, with shared working spaces, cafeteria and amenities such as games room and fitness center.

The 264 hotel rooms have been converted to residential units, manager units are upgraded with new kitchens, and the linen storage on each floor has been repurposed as shared laundry rooms.

Notably, the inherent sustainability of reusing an existing building has kept over 11.770 metric tons of C02e/ 60 years out of the built environment. The project is enhanced by a rigorous focus on "red list" free healthy materials, all electric kitchen, and appliances. Carbon counting using Zero Tool, Care Tool & TallyCAT. Red list free materials by default in this project, not by client request. However, the client very proudly marketed healthy materials in it's literature as a selling point to students when they realized the value of it.

Most heart strings pulled working on complicated change of use of an old Victorian residence in the Bayview to a social service use for Friends of the Children who mentor one on one children from Kindergarten to High School when they have no supportive grown up in their lives.

Third Street I worked on for over 2 years with a small team to put in two PRJ applications in to the planning department. First scheme had below ground parking, second scheme above ground parking. Worked with multiple consultants with team through to design development. Facade design is by Henning Larson. Ongoing in for planning approval.

One of a series of accessory buildings for US Forest Service in Zephyr Cove, Nevada, managed by Aramark. Buildings included a new event space and cottage in one location and a "comfort station" in another. Using the same architectural language to tie the buildings together, board form work concrete base, cedar plank siding and soffit and shingle roofs. Design of eaves and overhangs to minimize glare, maximize protection from elements and dramatic lake front views. Rendering created by Revit, Enscape & Veras. Design can be elevated even in small scale buildings.

Ten years to remodel Hill Street Residence, from design to planning, environmental review, discretionary review, historic declassification, building department review, and construction while balancing being a parent. Achieved net zero! I had a lot of help from my architectural community and learnt about many things to not do in a remodel.
